Troubleshooting

Common issues and solutions for TheResolverBot.

Bot Not Responding

Symptoms: Bot doesn't reply to commands or messages.

Possible causes:

  • Bot is down for maintenance (check status page)
  • You've been rate-limited (wait a few minutes and try again)
  • Command sent in wrong context (e.g., /groupadmin in DMs)

Solutions:

  • Send /start to reinitialize
  • Check if bot is still in the group (groups only)
  • Verify you're using correct command syntax
  • Contact support if issue persists

Admin Cockpit Won't Load

Symptoms: Clicking "Open Admin Cockpit" does nothing or shows an error.

Solutions:

  • Update Telegram to the latest version (miniapps require recent builds)
  • Ensure bot has admin permissions in the group
  • Try sending /groupadmin from the group, not from DMs
  • Clear Telegram cache and restart the app
  • Try from a different device (desktop vs mobile)

Responses Feel Off-Target

Symptoms: Bot suggestions don't match the situation or tone.

Solutions:

  • Provide more context when requesting a response
  • Try a different mode (Stabilize vs Clarify vs Close)
  • Use the "request alternative" feature (Pro)
  • Inject custom knowledge to teach the bot your group's style
  • Report persistent issues to [email protected]

Rate Limit Errors

Symptoms: "You're sending requests too quickly" message.

Cause: Anti-abuse protection triggered.

Solutions:

  • Wait 5-10 minutes before retrying
  • Spread out requests over time instead of rapid-fire commands
  • Upgrade to Pro for higher rate limits

Thread Context Lost

Symptoms: Bot forgets previous conversation.

Cause: Free tier context expires after 24 hours, or you sent /reset.

Solutions:

  • Provide full context again when resuming after a gap
  • Upgrade to Pro for unlimited thread history
  • Avoid using /reset unless you want to start fresh

Permissions Issues (Group Mode)

Symptoms: Bot can't delete messages, ban users, or perform admin actions.

Cause: Insufficient admin permissions.

Solutions:

  • Promote bot to admin in group settings
  • Grant required permissions: Delete messages, Ban users, Manage group
  • Check if group has restrictions on bot permissions
  • Re-add the bot if permissions are severely limited

Admin Cockpit Access Denied

Symptoms: Bot says you're not authorized to access the Admin Cockpit.

Cause: Your Telegram account is not a group admin in that chat.

Solutions:

  • Confirm you're an admin in the target group
  • Ask the group owner to grant you admin permissions
  • Run /groupadmin again from the correct group chat
